BYE EVERYONE!

Sooo, this is it. This is my final post and it feels weird. This term I've learned a lot about being a teacher and preparing teaching materials. We did a lot of tasks this term and even though it was kinda challenging, I enjoyed "acting like a teacher". I think group tasks were beneficial as I'm used to doing homeworks by myself and with this class I learned the significance of teamwork because sometimes it just makes it so much easier and faster to complete a task and it's fun :) The part where I struggled the most was recording my own voice because I don't like listening my voice over and over again to make sure it's fine but that's just a personal problem. Other than that I enjoyed this class. Anyway, feel free to contact me if you have questions! Please stay safe and don't forget that I love you <3 Byee

Creating a Webquest

Hi everyone! How are y'all doing this week? If you ask me, I'm stressed because my finals are coming :( but other than that I'm fine. This week, we were supposed to make a project  technology-integrated. It was a group project. First we chose our project topic from the  MEB's Preparatory Class Student's Book. Our original project was:     - Prepare your own poster about how to protect our nature and write your slogan on it as in the examples below.  - Then, present your poster to your friends. The original project was creating a poster which is composed of a slogan and a visual.    We asked students to make an infographic instead of a poster, which will make them actively involved in technology. We also gave them some websites to search to collect data.  After re-writing this project, we prepared the PowerPoint Slide. Anyway, here's the group task that I've completed with my friends  Rabia  and  Oğuz  : Technology En...

AUGMENTED REALITY TASK

Image
Hi guys, today I'll share my augmented reality task with you! I've just finished it and I'm so exhausted so if I make a  typo or something please excuse me :) We were asked to implement Augmented Reality to our teaching materials. Even though it is so basic I chose Paris because I've been there and I love that city. I used  Canva  to create it, it wasn't so hard as I'm familiar with it. I put the pictures and the codes, boom there you have it :). After doing that, I prepared a little task for my imaginary  students also using Canva. This is the task so I hope you all enjoy it!

Creating a Grammar Teaching Video

Image
Hi guys how are youu? I hope you're doing well! This week's task was creating a grammar teaching video for a flipped EFL classroom and I'm happy to share this assignment with you! I've already talked about flipped class in my previous post so if you're curious you can check it out.  Learning grammar can be very boring and hard in a class because students are usually not involved in it. A grammar teaching video is beneficial for an EFL class because it is a very fast and effective way of learning grammar. Students can learn easily and the teacher can involve them in class by giving activites about the video after they watch it. We created this task together with my friends  Rabia  and  Oğuz . We first needed to decide on the topic, so we looked into the workbook and all of us agreed to "past continuous tense" as we all thought it was the most convenient subject for us. Then we prepared the text, Rabia and I did the voiceovers. After that, we prepared a w...

Creating a Flipped Vocabulary Teaching Video

Image
Hi everyone!  Welcome back to my blog! This week we created a flipped vocabulary teaching video with my friends  Rabia  and  Oğuz . Flipped language teaching is basically an approach that makes the students active in learning. A flipped vocabulary teaching video is very beneficial to young EFL learners as it is a visual, short and captivating form of teaching vocabulary. Young learners would easily understand the meaning of the words through the video. We first decided on the subject, it wasn't hard because we all thought the "daily routine" would be best. After that Rabia and I wrote the script of the video and did the voiceovers, Oğuz made the animation and we prepared the quiz all together. Writing a script wasn't that hard we did it easily. The hardest part for me was doing the voiceover because I was concerned if my voice sounded good or not (I don't like listening to my own voice lol) but it turned out ok I guess :) Another frustrating part was, the tool...

Language Awareness Task Based on Corpus Use

Image
Hi guys 💓 Today I'll share a language awareness task that we've created as a group with my friends Rabia  and  Oğuz . I also wanna talk about some of the terms I've learned so far on this course. Data-driven learning  is basically an approach that accepts language as data and expects students to act like researchers in order to learn and get information about language.  Corpus is a collection of language data used to gather information in data-driven learning. Language awareness tasks make it easier for students to learn by themselves which make the whole process faster and more effective.  We created a language awareness task as an assignment. In this task, we briefly talked about using corpus so that they can learn how to use it by themselves; in addition to that, we prepared exercises that will encourage students to engage in active learning. We used Canva  and it was pretty easy to use so I highly recommend it! Anyway, here's the task we create...
